What do Easy, Normal, Hard, and Hell mean?
Difficulty labels on catalog and room cards map to approximate piece counts: Easy up to 100, Normal up to 250, Hard up to 400, Hell up to 1000. Site max is 1000 pieces. The label reflects piece count only — not how hard the image itself is to read.
Difficulty tiers and piece counts
- Easy: up to 100 pieces
- Normal: up to 250 pieces
- Hard: up to 400 pieces
- Hell: up to 1000 pieces
Fewer pieces mean larger pieces and usually faster finishes.
Labels are not image readability
The label only means how many pieces — not whether the image is easy to tell apart. Night scenes can be hard to edge even at low counts; clear posters can stay readable even at Hell.
For a first try, start at Easy (~100). For group play, Normal (~300) is often a better fit.
Trust the start page’s actual count
The slider value is only a target; the number on the start page is the real piece count for this game, and they may differ. Unhappy with the count? Go back and choose again. After the room starts, piece count cannot change — create a new room to adjust.
